Parent Participation

What is a Parent Participation preschool?

A parent participation preschool is founded on the principle that the best education will result from an active partnership among parents, teachers and children. Children learn alongside their parents. The school values parent involvement in preschool education as a natural stage of development.

Parent Responsibilities

1. Working in the Classroom

2-3 days monthly. The nursery is provided free of charge on days the parent is working. (If your child attends Pre-K you will work an additional day each month. There is no nursery on Pre-K days.)

2. Family Work Hours

6 hours total per year – Examples include: helping out at an event, classroom maintenance or creating a gift basket.

3. Fundraising

Participation throughout the year is essential to maintain our school and keep our tuition low

Examples include: sign up for Escript, participation in the Family Photo Fundraiser and attending school restaurant fundraisers.

4. Parent Job

Each family is assigned a Parent Job at the beginning of the school year and expected to work an average of 2 hours a month performing your job. Examples include: school photographer, outdoor cleaning and newsletter creation.

5. Attend Monthly Parent Meeting

Parent meetings are held once a month in the evening.

6. Cookie Sales

Prepare or purchase 2 dozen cookies once during the year. Cookies will be sold by the designated Cookie Parent after the Sunday service as a way of raising money for the school.
